Devaanshi
She's a mess, hates to wear a dress, and prefers to shout in stress. Meet Devaanshi, the girl who brought this podcast to life with the simple connecting of neurons. She likes to call herself a businesswoman, but can't give a pitch without giggles. She loves dogs, hot chocolate, and will forevermore be bound to the magic of books. She is passionate about a lot of issues including fighting for equal rights, and is a feminist, without the hypocritical sexism.
Laasya
Say hi to Laasya, the most wonderful artist you will ever meet! Do you see our podcast season covers? Well, she made them! Laasya can create amazing artwork with color and emotion. She also likes to watch One Direction interviews on Youtube to escape schoolwork. Laasya is skilled in the art of Bharatanatyam. Laasya is incredibly sweet, and whoever meets her is immediately her friend! Laasya's energy is easygoing and makes everyone comfortable.
Aleena
Bonjour, Aleena. Aleena is an incredibly kind person who loves cats, which explains her patience. She has tons of vinyl to which she can name every song to, many Spotify playlists to sing to, and talent in music. She has a gentle voice, and also plays the ukelele when time allows. She is also a great baker! She makes brownies, cookies, cupcakes, donuts - and does not let her baking failures put her down, similar to her mindset in life!
Why? How? What? When?
It all began on a simple Spring morning as Devaanshi and Aleena were walking to their second-period classes. Devaanshi wondered out loud, "What if I start a podcast? I like to talk a lot, so why not talk and share with people?" Aleena looked at her in awe (hyperbole) and said, "Oh my god, yes! Let's ask Laasya later." That's a very simplified conversation, but you get the gist. And so, Laasya was informed, and we were all very excited to begin.
So at their 8th grade home graduation party, Devaanshi gave a pitch to the parents, who stared at her in confusion. She spoke too fast as if giving a rant. Because of her carelessness, she was bombarded with millions of questions she then answered. The parents had safety concerns, but she calmly sorted everything out.
That summer of 2021, the girls worked on their podcast episodes, Laasya made the cover art, and they started social media accounts.
That's the story - the origins of the Everything & Absolutely Nothing Pocdast!
Season 1
Season 1 lasted from July to December of 2021. We had some fun, casual conversations with guessing games and discussing pop culture. Besides that, we also incorporated some heavy topics that felt important to us; Asian discrimination, homophobia, sexism, and a lot more!
Season 2
Season 2 is currently the ongoing season and started at the beginning of 2022. This season is more focused on collaborations and interviews. We have a goal to introduce new voices, topics, and opinions! Our first episode was released on talking to our future selves with the Melanated and Educated podcast, and our next one is on attachment issues with Mss. Muse Podcast.
